People's Choice KiwiSaver Award

The People have spoken...

The winner of the People's Choice KiwiSaver Scheme Communication Award for 2011, as voted by the KiwiSaving public, is the:

Gareth Morgan KiwiSaver Scheme  

Congratulations!! The top five KiwiSaver Schemes, being rated on their communications performance in 2011, resulted as being:

  1. Gareth Morgan KiwiSaver Scheme
  2. Milford KiwiSaver Plan
  3. Fisher Funds KiwiSaver Scheme (tied 3rd equal with-)
  3. Forsyth Barr KiwiSaver Scheme
  5. Fidelity KiwiSaver Scheme

Just over 5,800 votes were received from KiwiSavers across the country, rating a number of KiwiSaver schemes.  The results were very close, particularly in the top five schemes - not much between them!  Though the voter numbers represented only a small sample of KiwiSavers, it was positive to see that 98.5% of voters rated their provider's communications standard as good or better.

No scheme was rated as having a poor standard of communications, which is very encouraging!

Voting was open to the public from 1 November until 28 November 2011 and made online via our website.

This year Workplace Savings NZ again offered an incentive to get voters behind the People's Choice Award.  Eight prizes of a $250.00 contribution to a voter's KiwiSaver account were up for grabs - a substantial sweetener!  Update - the prize draw has been made and winners contacted by email on 13/12/11 - congratulations to all of our prize winners!

About the Award

KiwiSavers will vote for the KiwiSaver Scheme that they believe has done the best job of communicating with its members. That communication could have taken any form - printed materials such as an Investment Statement or Annual Report, campaigns undertaken to generally inform or educate, as well as the Scheme's web site.

This Award aims to help lift the KiwiSaver industry communications benchmark, and is a highlight of the annual Workplace Savings NZ Communication Awards programme, which recognises excellence and innovation in communications by all types of Workplace Super and KiwiSaver providers.

Voting will open between 1 to 28 November 2011 inclusive, with KiwiSavers being asked to nominate (vote for) a provider then rate that provider on a scale from 'Excellent' to 'Very Poor' with regards to the standard of that provider's KiwiSaver communications.  When voting closes, the votes will be tallied and scored, with the finalists and Award winner announced at our Communicaton Awards Ceremony, in Wellington on 8 December 2011.

For 2011, Workplace Savings NZ is offering eight individual prizes of a $250.00 one-off contribution to a KiwiSaver member's account as an incentive to help New Zealanders get behind the People's Choice Award and make their voice heard.
