QFEs need regulatory assurance

Qualifying Financial Entity (QFE) status, like authorisation, will have a shelf life and renewal process come into play which implies a need for regulatory assurance says Commissioner for Financial Advisers David Mayhew.  Speaking at the Workplace Savings conference he said QFE's must remain capable of delivering compliance with legislation.

Financial Service Providers register to open Monday

Commerce Minister Simon Power is urging people who provide financial services to register with the Financial Service Providers Register when it opens on Monday 16 August.  "The opening of the register marks the start of the transition to full implementation of the Financial Advisers Act and the Financial Service Providers Act", Mr Power said.
